"73 Questions" Vogue inspired Interview: HBCU Student Edition

Inspired by the "Vogue 73 Questions" I decided to do my own version with questions geared towards my interests and things about myself.




1. What are you studying?

-I’m studying mass communication and I have a minor in behavioral & political science.


2. What are your classes like?

-They’re pretty hard but I enjoy them since they’re focused around the things I enjoy about my major.


3. What’s your favorite study spot at your HBCU?

-My favorite study spot is the newly renovated third floor of John B. Coleman library


4. Are you a part of any clubs?

-I’m a part of PVAMU TV and NABJ


5. Do you have a school song?

-I do, we sing it at the end of a lot of school events.


6. Do you attend school sport events?

-I love going to watch the basketball and volleyball games in the BabyDome and watching the outside sports when the weather is nice.


7. What’s Humpday?

-Every Wednesday from 12pm to 1pm everyone goes in front of the panther and the Campus Activity Board DJ’s for the entire hour, greeks stroll, sometimes there’s vendors that you can buy lashes from. It’s really a good time.


8. Are your assignments hard?

-Not at all, only when I wait till the last minute to do my assignments.


9. Is your school a party school?

-My school is like every college. We have parties but we also have a lot of academic events as well as events lead by student organizations.


10. Do the students have school spirit?

-Anytime you’re walking around campus you can spot students wearing PV gear. At every sporting event all of us shout chants, and sing our alma mater. On social media, we rep our school pretty hard.


11. What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had?

-Going to college out-of-state. I feel like it built my independence and made me realize I can do a lot when I put my mind to it.


12. What’s a typical college date look like?

-Going for a walk around the campus at night is really nice. Maybe going to the bistro on a night where it isn’t busy or going bowling at Panther Lanes.


13. What’s one vice you wish you could give up?

-Starbucks; I can’t put it down and I know it’s bad for you but it tastes so good.


14. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

-Hearing I have a beaming personality. I think that’s the best compliment anyone could ever receive.


15. When are you the most inspired?

-I’m most inspired at night when I’m watching a movie or scrolling through Instagram, Probably around 2am or 3am.


16. Sweet or savory?

-Sweeeeeett


17. What song can you listen to on repeat?

-Any Migos song, I’m obsessed with them.


18. . What makes you smile the most?

-My family and my dog, I love them.


19. What’s one thing people don’t know about you at school?

-I don’t like being the center of attention. It actually makes me feel extremely self-conscious and uncomfortable but I push through it because I enjoy being a people person.


20. Heels or flats or sneakers?

-Definitely on any given day you can catch me in slip-on vans. If my toes are done than I wear sandals 24/7.


21. Vintage PV gear or new PV gear?

-I like to wear a lot of Vintage PV gear to events like Homecoming and all of the new PV gear I wear on a day to be day basis.


22. What are the three things you can’t live without?

-My phone, Netflix, and YouTube


23. Walk to class or ride the campus shuttle?

-When I was a freshman, I hated walking to class because it was so hot outside, but now I enjoy walking. I like to take in the scenery of our beautiful campus.


24. What’s your current TV character obsession?

-Mary Jane on “Being Mary Jane”


25. How would you define yourself in three words?

-Resilient, Caring, Motivating


26. What’s your current favorite piece of clothing that you own?

-leggings or Nike running shorts


27. What’s a must-have clothing item everyone should own?

-Definitely leggings


28. What’s inspiring you in life right now?

-To be completely honest, this time in quarantine has really given me the space to create a lot of content.


29. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

-Always trust your intuition.


30. What’s your pet peeve?

-When people click pens for no reason or constantly tap their legs up and down.


31. What’s something you notice about someone when you first meet them?

-Their teeth.


32. What’s your biggest regret?

-Not taking chances in life, being too scared.


33. What’s heavily played on your music playlist right now?

-A lot of 90’s R&B


34. What’s your favorite place to eat at on campus?

-The bowling alley burgers go so hard; I love getting those with Cajun fries.


35. What book did you most recently finish?

-The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, my friend recommended it to me and it read just like a movie.


36. What are you currently reading?

-Right now, I’m reading “The Wait” by Devon Franklin and Megan Good.


37. How do you start your day?

-I drink water and stretch, then I do my daily devotionals from the Bible app.


38. What’s your favorite event at PVAMU?

-Homecoming, hands down the best event of the year!


39. If you could live anywhere on campus where would it be?

-I would live in University Square, it’s the closest in proximity to every building I have classes in.


40. If you could switch lives with one person for a day who would it be?

-I would be myself, I enjoy my life even with its ups and downs.


41. What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to try but you’ve been too scared to do?

-Skydiving, it’s always been a thing I’ve wanted to try but been too scared to.


42. What’s the one thing you wish you knew before attending PVAMU?

-I wish I knew that when I got there, I would have to do a lot of walking. I didn’t know it was a walking campus.


43. Favorite food?

-Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets


44. Favorite dessert?

-Cookie dough ice cream


45. Favorite snack?

-I love thin crisp pretzels, or pretzel sticks.


46. What’s a movie that made you cry?

-The Titanic every time.


47. Which movie makes you laugh the hardest?

-All the Rush Hour movies


48. What do you usually eat for breakfast?

-Cinnamon apple oatmeal or eggs and toast with strawberry jam.


49. What’s your favorite color?

-I have two, pink and yellow.


50. What are three words to describe living on campus at PVAMU

-Fun, independent, and exciting


51. Do you like surprises?

-Yes! I love them


52. What’s one thing you had to learn the hard way?

-Everyone who smiles in your face isn’t always your hands.


53. What’s something you’re tired of?

-The chunky shoe trend, I’m over it.
