Students who attend Morehouse College, Spelman College, and Clark University will not be returning to campus this Fall semester. Instead, students will move to all-virtual classes for the Fall.
According to WSB-TV the historically Black colleges and universities in the Atlanta area made the announcement Monday, July 20th.
The remote style of learning is nothing new to students that were forced to go all-online the remainder of their Spring semester due to the increased risk of Coronavirus.
Morehouse students will begin their virtual semester August 19th through November 20th with no fall-break.-- Stated in a letter written by Morehouse President, Dr. David A. Thomas addressing the plans for the Fall 2020 semester.
Spelman College had initially planned on returning to face-to-face in the Fall but the increased cases surrounding the Atlanta area changed their minds.
"Due to the worsening health crisis, Spelman realizes that the fall 2020 semester will look different for our first-year students than we imagined."
Due to the change of direction for this upcoming semester, Spelman College is offering 10% discount on tuition and about 40% for mandatory fees, WSB-TV reports.
Clark Atlanta University originally planned to open the campus to freshman and sophomore students while the junior, senior, and graduate students had a remote semester.
A tweet made by the official twitter of Clark Atlanta stated the concern for the return of students to campus this semester.
"Clark Atlanta University is taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of its students and entire CAU community."
Classes will be all-online this semester for the students of Clark Atlanta University and will run from August 19th through November 20th.
In a letter from the President of CAU, Dr. George T. French Jr.,
