Trump V.S Biden
On September 29th in Cleveland, Ohio President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden faced off in one of the most heated presidential debates in election history.
The presidential candidates went back and forth about their views on COVID-19, California Wildfires, the Black Lives Matter movement and other issues that have affected Americans.
Fox News, Chris Wallace was the moderator during the debate but had little to no success in giving each candidate their allotted time for Q&A due to multiple outbursts made by President Trump.
According to The Washington Post, Wallace witnessed the entire first family take off their masks upon entering Case Western Reserve University.
Just a week after the first debate of election season, President Donald Trump, The FLOTUS, and multiple members of the White House staff tested positive for coronavirus.
According to MSNBC, Trump was transported to Walter Reed Hospital immediately after his COVID-19 test came back as positive. After having mild symptoms for a few days the president was released back to the White House where he will continue the remainder of his treatment.
In a video statement recorded on the White House balcony, a mask-less Trump stated,
"Don't let it [coronavirus] dominate. Don't let it take over your lives,"
In the wake of the president’s hospitalization, vice presidential candidates Mike Pence and Kamala Harris prepare for a safe debate on October 7th. According to NBC, there are plans to use plexiglass barriers in addition to separating the candidates by more than 12 feet to stop the spread of the virus.
Harris agrees with the safety measure put in place for the debate while Pence on the other hand has requested to do away with the plexiglass on his side according to the Washington Post.
Those entering the 90-minute debate at The University of Utah will have to test negative, wear a mask, and social distance.
The debate starts promptly at 9 p.m. ET
More updates to come as the election season continues.
