Black Lives Matter Mural Outside of Prairie View A&M University
The City of Prairie View's, Mayor Allen teamed up with PVAMU School of Architecture to design a template for the street mural. The mural is located on University Drive or better known as, Sandra Bland Parkway.
The students and staff from Prairie View A&M University's Fabrication Center created the scale of the mural, which will be 12-feet wide, 19-feet tall, and 3-feet of spacing in between.

Why Black Participants are Needed for the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Trials
It's no secret that the Black community has had very little trust in experimental drugs since the Tuskegee Syphilis experiment that began in 1932 and ended roughly around 1972.
Calethia Hodges, a clinician at Infinite Trials outside of Atlanta, has been tasked to persuade the Black community to participate in the clinical trials for a COVID-19 vaccine.
Experts believe that if African Americans don't participate in the clinical trials for the vaccine, then there are no predictions of it working in African Americans once the vaccine is created.

Trump's Rally Could Cause Racial Tension
Community leaders in Tulsa, Oklahoma are worried that this weekends Trump rally may spark violence within the community.
Tulsa is the first stop for many Trump rallies across the country to rev up his reelection campaign.
The city of Tulsa will also be celebrating their Juneteenth celebration downtown during the same weekend as Trump's rally.
Rev. Al Sharpton is just one among many other activists who will announce the rebuilding of Black Wall Street at the Tulsa's Juneteenth Celebration, held in the Greenwood District.
35 city blocks of Black homes and businesses was burned down along with the death of 300 people and 800 injured in the Greenwood District, following the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921.
Tulsa, Oklahoma is also where an unarmed Black man by the name of Terence Crutcher was shot and killed by Tulsa police in 2016.

Netflix CEO's Investment in America's Future
CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings is donating $120 million dollars to HBCU's.
The Funds will be split up three different ways; $40 million dollars to Morehouse College, $40 million dollars to Spelman College, and $40 million to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
The company Netflix pledged $5 million dollars to orginizations that support Black creatives, Black youth, and Black-owned businesses.
And if that wasn't generous enough, Netflix is matching all of their personal employees donations to the Black Lives Matter movement by 200%.

Major Household Food Brands Are Reading the Room
At nearly 131 years old, Quaker Oats hears their consumers loud & clear. The Quaker Oats company is finally retiring the Aunt Jemima brand and logo.
Buyers have been asking the company for years to change their Aunt Jemima logo because of the racial stereotypes that it perpetuates.
According to the New York Times,
The origin of the Aunt Jemima brand is rooted in the old Southern plantation times when the devoted house servants would be reffered to as "mammy"
Brands like Uncle Ben's, Mrs. Butterworth's, and Cream of Wheat are listening to the voices of the Black community and changing their brands and logos as well.

Father's Day Will Look Different for Many Families This Year
As Coronavirus deaths continue to rise across the country, so do the number of killings of unarmed Black men.
The children of George Floyd , Rayshard Brooks, and many others will have to experience Father's Day without their Daddy's by their side.
George Floyd died at the hands of Minneapolis, Minnesota police officers. Floyd was a 46 year old, unarmed Black man killed in broad daylight. During his arrest, Floyd begged for the police officer to remove his knee from his neck because he could no longer breathe.

Protests to bring forth change and justice for #BlackLives have gone on for weeks, causing companies and businesses to focus on diversifying their workplace and re-think marketing strategies.
Not too long after the death of George Floyd; Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year old, unarmed Black man was shot and killed by Atlanta police. The officer who shot him in the back twice has now been charged with felony murder.
